Job Context

A CAD Draftsman (Computer-Aided Design Draftsman) prepares accurate technical drawings and plans using CAD software based on the concepts and specifications provided by architects or engineers. CAD Draftsmen are employed in industries such as construction, architecture, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and manufacturing.

The CAD Draftsman is responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining detailed technical drawings and documentation using CAD software. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and close collaboration with engineers, architects, designers, and project managers to ensure drawings meet project requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare 2D and 3D technical drawings using CAD software.
• Develop detailed architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, or electrical drawings.
• Convert hand sketches and design concepts into digital CAD drawings.
• Revise and update drawings based on design changes and client feedback.
• Ensure drawings comply with company standards, building codes, and project specifications.
• Maintain drawing records, revisions, and document control.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and project teams to resolve design issues.
• Prepare layout plans, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and as-built drawings.
• Review drawings for accuracy, dimensions, and completeness.
• Assist in preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and material take-offs when required.
• Perform site visits to verify measurements and gather project information, if needed.
• Ensure timely completion of drafting assignments while maintaining quality.

Educational Requirements

• Diploma in Architecture/Civil Engineering

Experience Requirements

• Experience: Must have 8 to 10 years of experience in the relevant sector
• Additional Quality: Electrical and Plumbing drawing works will be preferred

Required Skills

• Must be prepared Rajuk/ Pouroshova/ Cantonment Board Approval sheet.
• Experience in Architectural working/ Construction drawing
• Excellent knowledge of Structured drawing
• Must have working experience of AutoCAD Software
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of Revit, Civil 3D, SolidWorks, SketchUp, or MicroStation (depending on the industry).
• Ability to interpret engineering and architectural drawings.
• Good understanding of engineering principles and construction methods.
• Knowledge of building codes and drafting standards.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
