Autobahn Solutions Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Electric Foreman and Diagnostic Expert to lead our electrical and diagnostics department. This is one of the most technically demanding roles in our workshop. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex electrical, electronic, and system-level faults on premium European and Japanese vehicles — using OEM-grade diagnostic equipment, reading live data, tracing CAN-bus faults, and managing ECU and module-related issues. You will also supervise and guide our electrical team. We specialize in BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche, Land Rover, Jaguar, Volvo, Lexus, and Toyota hybrids. If you have exceptional diagnostic ability, strong electrical knowledge, and the leadership to back it up — this role is for you.
Company: Autobahn Solutions Ltd.
Job Location: 22 Tejgaon I/A, Kunipara, Happy Homes, Dhaka 1208
Employment Type: Full-Time - On-Site
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the electrical and diagnostic department — assign, supervise, and review all electrical and electronic repair work
- Perform full-system diagnostic scans using OEM-grade tools (ICOM, XENTRY, VCDS, Autel, Launch, or similar) across all control modules — engine ECU, transmission, ABS, SRS/airbag, body control module, and comfort systems
- Diagnose and repair complex electrical faults including CAN-bus communication errors, module failures, wiring harness faults, and short circuits
- Perform ECU coding, programming, and adaptation for European vehicles (BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen) where required
- Handle limp-mode diagnosis, engine warning lights, airbag faults, ABS/ESP faults, and electrical gremlins that other workshops have failed to solve
- Carry out hybrid system diagnosis and basic battery management system (BMS) checks on Toyota Prius, Lexus, and other hybrid vehicles
- Interpret freeze-frame data, live sensor readings, fuel trim data, and module communication data to find root causes — not just symptoms
- Review and approve all electrical repairs completed by the electrical team before vehicles are returned to customers; ensure repeat complaints are eliminated through correct first-time diagnosis and repair
- Guide and mentor senior and junior electricians in diagnostic procedures, wiring fault tracing, and use of diagnostic equipment
- Maintain and manage all diagnostic equipment and ensure tools are calibrated and updated
- Prepare clear fault reports for customers and management, explaining what was found and what was done
- Liaise with parts suppliers for electrical components, modules, and sensors
- Stay updated on new vehicle systems, software updates, and diagnostic procedures for the brands we service
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS
- OEM-grade diagnostic software and hardware — BMW ICOM/ISTA, Mercedes XENTRY/DAS, Audi/VW VCDS/ODIS, and multi-brand tools such as Autel MaxiSYS, Launch X431
- CAN-bus, LIN-bus, K-Line, and FlexRay communication protocols — fault tracing and diagnosis
- ECU coding and programming — variant coding, module initialization, software updates
- Wiring harness fault tracing — short circuit, open circuit, high resistance fault diagnosis
- Fault code reading and interpretation across all vehicle modules (not just engine ECU)
- Live data monitoring — sensor readings, adaptations, fuel trims, module communication status
- Airbag/SRS system diagnosis and repair
- ABS, ESP, and traction control system diagnosis
- AIRMATIC, air suspension, and adaptive suspension electronic diagnosis (Mercedes, BMW, Land Rover)
- Hybrid battery management system (BMS) diagnosis — Toyota Prius, Lexus hybrid
- AdBlue/SCR system diagnosis and DPF system management (Mercedes-Benz diesel)
- Car key programming, immobilizer bypass, and TPMS programming
- Auto AC system diagnosis — compressor control, climate control module, temperature sensor
- Oscilloscope and multimeter use for advanced electrical fault tracing
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 10–15 years of automotive electrical experience, with at least 4–5 years in a diagnostic or electrical lead/foreman role
- Extensive hands-on diagnostic experience with BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, and at least one Japanese premium brand (Toyota, Lexus, Honda)
- Proven track record of solving difficult electrical and electronic faults that other workshops could not resolve
- Experience working with OEM-grade diagnostic tools (not just generic OBD scanners)
TOOLS / EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE
- BMW ICOM A2/A3 with ISTA-D / ISTA-P software
- Mercedes-Benz XENTRY / DAS diagnostic system
- Audi/Volkswagen VCDS (Ross-Tech) and/or ODIS
- Autel MaxiSYS Pro / Ultra or Launch X431 PAD (multi-brand)
- Digital oscilloscope (2-channel or 4-channel)
- Digital multimeter (Fluke or equivalent)
- Wiring diagram software / ELSA / WIS / ETK
- Hybrid battery tester and BMS diagnosis tool
- Key programmer (AUTEL IM608, Lonsdor K518, or similar)
- CAN-bus analyzer / network tester
- AC manifold gauge set and refrigerant recovery machine
- TPMS reset and programming tool
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
- Diploma in Automobile Engineering or Electronics/Electrical Engineering. Equivalent practical expertise with verified experience will be considered. Formal training or certification from BMW, Mercedes-Benz, or Audi diagnostic programs is a strong advantage.
PREFERRED CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Candidates who have completed manufacturer diagnostic training (BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi/Volkswagen, Toyota)
- Experienced in ECU coding and programming — not just fault code reading
- Able to trace intermittent and complex electrical faults systematically without replacing unnecessary parts
- Strong leadership and communication skills — can explain faults clearly to both team members and customers
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to work on multiple complex cases simultaneously
